Watching your funds and spending right now? Check out this cool free tool!

Most, if not all, of us are closely watching our funds these days.
As I talk with clients, colleagues, and friends who have been downsized or are in job search mode, I am amazed when I hear comments such as “We can last 9 months without changing our lifestyle”. If there is a change in your family income, why would you continue your current lifestyle? It is important to assess where we are financially and make adjustments where necessary to be in a position to ride out the job search phase, however long it may take.
In doing some research, I came across the list of the top 50 web sites for 2008 developed by Time magazine. Included in the list is a new site (at least new to me), called Mint.
This tool pulls information from all your online financial records, including your 401(k), bank accounts and credit-card accounts, then neatly graphs your cash flow and expenditures. Mint’s Trends section shows you a pie chart of what you spend and where (on food, travel, shopping, etc.) and suggests money-savers like lower-rate credit cards. The site will even send you mobile alerts to remind you to pay your bills
If you are looking for a way to keep track of your finances, check out this cool, free tool!
